An autopsy has determined that a 1-year-old Central Florida boy police say was killed by his mother drowned and suffered blunt force trauma.

The boy's 32-year-old mother faces a charge of first-degree murder. Neha Patel was scheduled to make her first court appearance Sunday in Bartow. She is being held without bond.

Jail records show that 32-year-old Neha Patel was being held Monday in the infirmary of the Polk County jail. She faces a charge of first-degree murder.

The sheriff's office says Patel, who suffers from postpartum depression, killed her son last week. She was arrested Friday after police say she returned to her Lakeland home and told her husband she had killed the boy.

Jail records did not show whether Patel had an attorney.
